The PIP Report

Hey everyone, I know this has taken a while.  I am still going through the process so I will keep updating this post as I go through it.   Before I go any further I should say the PIP stands for Personal Independence Payment. This is a benefit that helps people with any form of additional needs to be independent. And now prepare for an onslaught of stupid decisions and pointless reasoning  So, PIP has been a bit of a pain. There were some things I have spoken of; like the 30 minute ‘interview’ when it took 3 days for me to get diagnosed with autism.  Also, the questions or should I say the answers to those questions are just silly.  Example: how far can you walk taking into account any aids you use? A) less than 20 meters B) between 20 and 50 meters C) between 50 and 200 meters D) 200 meters or more E) it varies. So, they haven’t said where you are walking to. They haven’t given any issue of how hard walking could be. They haven’t even sai...

Interim wait

Firstly this won't be a normal blog as you can tell by the title. I am still writing my PIP post and the Netflix account decided not to work on my laptop or my laptop is on strike- either one.  This is why I am doing this on my phone. So it shouldn't be too long  before any issues get sorted. So what I am going to do is say what I am going to talk about shortly. Then what is happening at the moment. So I am going to talk about in the next coming weeks. -Pip - making changes - Names and languages - why me (should be an interesting one) -Fandom - and of course my reviews of atypical. Thank you for reading I am not going to leave any links but please look at some of the post and please say what you would like to see.

Post Diagnostic Meltdown

Image
I am firstly sorry this one is late by nearly a week😶. I was waiting to talk about my experiences at the DANA Post Diagnostic course. Then I had a meltdown💫🙃. That was from the DANA Post Diagnostic course😶. Anyway, the course it self taught me not much else I didn't already know. For anyone who hasn't been to one.  A post-diagnostic course is where you learn some bits about your condition, in my case autism (Asperger's), you learn about the strength you can have being autistic, learn how to control certain issues and how to fit into a neurotypical world. And we did this for 3 hours💥 and have this again next Tuesday.  Well, anyone who knows my thoughts will know that I don't think we should fix it, we should be able to thrive alongside neurotypicals; all we need is a little kindness and support from people around us👪. My 'superpowers'💪 are to mimic anything I need to be to get by, alongside some others but I want to focus on this one. I know some peop...

A Christmas Catch up and Happy New Year

Christmas day had been an unusual day, as it is the day something goes wrong and it didn't. Everything is there pretty much on time. I had my presents🎁- which included an adorable Eevee. I gave my presents🎁 to my parents they both enjoyed them. We also were host to a guest- Which was something we don't normally do. It was nice to host for once, we rarely do it. I hope they had a good Christmas day. For my family we celebrate Christmas from the 24th December - 31st December then celebrates New years on the 1st of January. Which is a little odd I know, but also why I haven't posted anything for that time? We aren't a religious household we go off me and my dad's Taoist ideas of; Peace, understanding of people & togetherness. They sound simple, but they can be hard to keep by, especially if it is for a week😑. We little to no arguments and understanding of everyone. For Boxing day I had to cook, luckily no one got poisoned😌. I like this part of the year becaus...

PIP Assessment... WHY?

I had my PIP assessment on the 13 th I think it went well👍. As I walked in I twitched quite badly, I still have a bruise nearly a week later😔. The person who saw me was a qualified nurse, even they didn’t quite know what to do with me. Which sounds bad but through the Health and Social Care system only specialist really deal with autism. Also, Autism diagnosis are getting more common, but it doesn’t mean people with autism see more of doctors, nurses or other people through the health care system. We see the same people that we keep seeing because that is the best way of stopping the meltdown, either that or they have to bring in someone who knows about autism or is trained in special needs.  Anyway, back to the PIP😶. It only took around 30 minutes. My assessment for autism took 3 days, yes days😱😳. So… How does 30 minutes fill up 3 day’s worth of assessments? I am not too sure either. So, people genuinely think that you can cover completely someone’s autism in 30 min...

We Need More Geckos On TV

Here is my second blog of the day. This time I want to talks about something that is making me tick, just ever so slightly. I’m sure most people have seen that in a programme called I’m a celebrity get m out of here there is someone with autism in there. YAY! To be more precise she is another Aspie like me.   As you should know I mainly argue things on here. So you can guess what I has been making me tick.    For once it isn’t putting someone with Asperger’s in a ‘dangerous environment’. It more I haven’t really seen someone with “severe autism” or “harmful autistic traits” in any show or really in entertainment at all. I should mention I am including   people who have Tourette’s, OCD or as I said- “severe autism” or “harmful autistic traits”. Not that I would like to see them in harms way, take I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here I would most likely want to hug or pet one of the many crocodiles they have or see if something will do me harm. That partly becaus...
