The PIP Report

Hey everyone, I know this has taken a while.  I am still going through the process so I will keep updating this post as I go through it.   Before I go any further I should say the PIP stands for Personal Independence Payment. This is a benefit that helps people with any form of additional needs to be independent. And now prepare for an onslaught of stupid decisions and pointless reasoning  So, PIP has been a bit of a pain. There were some things I have spoken of; like the 30 minute ‘interview’ when it took 3 days for me to get diagnosed with autism.  Also, the questions or should I say the answers to those questions are just silly.  Example: how far can you walk taking into account any aids you use? A) less than 20 meters B) between 20 and 50 meters C) between 50 and 200 meters D) 200 meters or more E) it varies. So, they haven’t said where you are walking to. They haven’t given any issue of how hard walking could be. They haven’t even sai...

Interim wait

Firstly this won't be a normal blog as you can tell by the title. I am still writing my PIP post and the Netflix account decided not to work on my laptop or my laptop is on strike- either one.  This is why I am doing this on my phone. So it shouldn't be too long  before any issues get sorted. So what I am going to do is say what I am going to talk about shortly. Then what is happening at the moment. So I am going to talk about in the next coming weeks. -Pip - making changes - Names and languages - why me (should be an interesting one) -Fandom - and of course my reviews of atypical. Thank you for reading I am not going to leave any links but please look at some of the post and please say what you would like to see.

Me vs Grammarly

Sorry for the belayed post, lots of things have happened on my end and well, change is hard to cope with when you lose track of where some of the changes happened. Anyway, I thought I would do a fun one. I downloaded Grammarly to help with most of my issues on here... well its good, but so infuriating. Every time I quote someone, it thinks I'm wrong. It doesn't understand that I might need to misspell things or that I might want to use my own language for once. The language I use is an altered form of binary, that being translating in English is a little rough. In binary, there are no commas, full stops or semi-colons. It allows me to take in as much information as possible, in fragmented sections. The only issues are spelling in binary is hard. Grammarly uses programming to adapt, but it can't adapt to something that isn't its language being used. So its a bit annoying when I want to say; Hi everyone hows are you enjoying this? It will point out that...

A Quick Catch-up

It's now the start of December. So the shops in town are full of people. Thats why I did all my shopping well before hand. I thought I would give a life update. So I am alive and still autistic. In our household we have decorated the house with Christmas decorations and put up pur tree.  I am planning a fundraser at the moment. It should be fun. So with Christmas looming I am already looking at next year. It seems so far away but It is only less then a month away really. I have sent off my PIP form. So that will be another 6-8 weeks to wait. Yep I will have to wait another month and half to get an asscessment. Then wait the same time again to see if I qualify for it. I think I may forget about the claim before it even happens at this rate.  I thought I would do another update because I keep saying things that are wrong with the world around autistics. So I thought I would do this to say things away from all that.  Also it is completely different from the ones from last we...

Wired and Ready

So this couple weeks I haven't had any internet but I have a kinda packed couple weeks. I had done volenteered for CAMHS and Young Devon, then I started my university module- Yay 😀. Last week I helped CAMHS again and altered my training plan. I don't mean a small change I mean everything, I have changed everything from the training on land to the training on the water. It's only going to get harder for me 😱😜. Also on Monday I got my complete reasults for my last module and I PASSED!! YAY!🎉 Anyway I know that pretty much everyone that gets taught that autistics don't like change. Whlist this is kinda true it is also worng as most just need time to adjust that could be seconds to months, but everyone else need time to adjust but they can adjust on the fly as it were we can't or we can but not well...😞. It also help if we want the change so with my training I have gone from around an hour on land to around 3 hours that is a big change, but I know to be competive...

Why NAS? Why?

This week has been an odd week. I have done the Atypical review, which I’m hoping to post every Wednesday or Thursday. From then I will post on here every Sunday. I have done some participation for helping CAMHS, I have done some teaching; which was brilliant. It was nice to teach my wonderful sport that is C1. I also met up with a wonderful friend. I have also figured out with some deduction that I may have passed my End of Module Assessment that I have  passed it, as I got ask for feedback about my module at 4:30 in the morning- I wasn’t impressed.  I will hopefully start typing up the reviews next week. Today I went back into my old C1 it was fun, to be back in it. My old C1 is an older boat, its a Nelo Vanquish mk1, so it was made somewhere in the 90s and most C or K boats usually last 10-12 year, some usually 5 years. So my canoe is a little old. I also found out that my old canoe hurts... well when trying to fit my foot board back on. I kinda cut my finger from my nail ...

Environmental Changes

Image
For this one I think it is a bit of a difficult one to explain to someone who hasn’t got any sensory issues, but I will give it a shot 😊 .   I will split it to three parts: one about people, one about different bit of our environment (lightings, smells and sounds) and the last one about how some people on the spectrum make our own environment. So, first things first. What do I mean by environment is things like lighting in a room, odd smells; just the things in a room that can make an atmosphere or change how the room looks. This could include how many people are in a room or the type of person that is in the room with you. Most commonly, so not everyone has these issues, some issues that people on the spectrum are sensitive to light, noise, touch and smell. It like all your senses or a sense has become enhanced in some way. All my senses are sensitive to a point but not as sensitive as some I know. Whilst some I know only have a sense or two that are sensitive. So as ...

Sudden Changes

I know this is meant to be graphic, although I will try and take some out this is a disclaimer that there may be part find either disturbing or upsetting. Although I don’t know emotions I know that one 😃. Sudden changes these are hard for everyone even neurotypicals. I will try and do some of these sudden changes as there are a lot of them. I am going to cover around four of them. These will be death, break ups in a relationship, someone going to hospital and a general sudden change.   From this I will talk more about the affects because people don’t want to know about things like this. A general sudden change. This is where something is out of someone’s control usually. To someone on the spectrum most of us need control and order in some way. So, anything that throws us out of that order is sudden. This can lead to things like meltdown, overloads and physical abuse to other people- sorry. These are the general things that people know happen. What is happening inside m...
