Why NAS? Why?
This week has been an odd week. I have done the Atypical review, which I’m hoping to post every Wednesday or Thursday. From then I will post on here every Sunday. I have done some participation for helping CAMHS, I have done some teaching; which was brilliant. It was nice to teach my wonderful sport that is C1. I also met up with a wonderful friend. I have also figured out with some deduction that I may have passed my End of Module Assessment that I have passed it, as I got ask for feedback about my module at 4:30 in the morning- I wasn’t impressed. I will hopefully start typing up the reviews next week. Today I went back into my old C1 it was fun, to be back in it. My old C1 is an older boat, its a Nelo Vanquish mk1, so it was made somewhere in the 90s and most C or K boats usually last 10-12 year, some usually 5 years. So my canoe is a little old. I also found out that my old canoe hurts... well when trying to fit my foot board back on. I kinda cut my finger from my nail down- one of the reasons why I wear gloves.
So... has anyone seen the new autism logo for the Nation Autistic Society. If not here it is...
There is two things in there one is rainbow for the spectrum the other is that is meant to look like an A for autism. Firstly how does it look like an A? Secondly, how does it look like an A? I don’t understand why it was changed. I didn’t mind the last one. This one I know it has been designed by autistics and their family but it was mainly influenced by an neurotypical which I think it should be dedicated to people on the spectrum not the person who made the label. Also from the 6th October to the 13th its Autism Hour. This is where certain shops for an hour dim the lights lower the music and the staff help or learn about autism. I think this is brilliant, but I keep asking this question. Why not make it autistic friendly the whole time? Or teach everyone that comes into the store about autism? It is nice to know that store want to be autistic friendly, its just a shame that the shops don’t want to be autism friendly all the time. I think there is one shop that is, Morrison’s, I think they do it in most or all stores on Saturday between 9-10am. I know it doesn’t sound like much but this is to some people as they don’t have to hide in their houses until October, they can be ‘normal’ for a whole hour, believe me that’s hard to come by.
